Soul Geekadelicide - Fallout New Vegas

Ok, so I started this blog a little to late to adequately express my multiple nerdgasms for games like Dragon Age:Origins and Fallout 3 in a timely manner. Quite a shame really, maybe I will do it some other time when I pull the games out for a replay.

There is a game coming out this Fall however, that I *will* be able to squee all over, and ho-boy will I ever. That game is Fallout New Vegas! It's not a sequel per se (hence the lack of a "4") but rather a whole new adventure in a different part of the country. The First Fallout turned you loose in Southern California, while Fallout 2 let you explore a larger area covering California and parts of Oregon. Fallout 3, as most everyone who pays any attention to gaming knows, is set in Washington D.C. and it's surrounding area. When you take into account the expansion packs released for it, Fallout 3 is freaking HUGE.

It's a game that promises the best of 2 worlds: it uses Fallout 3's pretty spiffy game mechanics (V.A.T.S!) and it's being developed by Obsidian, which has a lot of people who worked on the original Fallout games. That is a combination that I for one can NOT wait to see. As you can probably tell from the title, in this game you're going to get to explore a post apocalyptic Las Vegas, as well as the surrounding area.
